Meet the teachers

Daniel Philippe - Principal/Owner; teacher of piano, keyboard, theory, drums, composition/songwriting, bass guitar; high school music tutor; accompanist
Daniel has been teaching piano for 29 years in his home studio and has been a school music teacher for 20 years. He has tertiary qualifications in education and music (piano and composition) and has performed in many bands and ensembles ranging from Classical to jazz to rock, including regular performances with the Ipswich City Symphony Orchestra, performing at the Icon New Year’s Eve concert at Robelle Domain for three years and in the worship band at Breakthrough Church Springfield. He has played on many recordings in different styles, including releasing his own albums under the name Reflectiv. He also recently produced Breakthrough Church’s first worship album and an EP for talented local artist, Rachel Hannah. One of his original compositions, a new version of the ANZAC poem, In Flanders Fields, was recorded by mezzo-soprano, Helen Coleman. He is also available as an accompanist for exams and concerts.
Daniel recently added another string to his bow by becoming a BodyMinded practitioner. BodyMinded is a combination of Alexander Technique, anatomy and biomechanics. The course was centred around using your body effectively while playing music and it means that Daniel can provide an extra level of insight and support not common among piano teachers.
